First Forever by Declan Rhodes

40-year-old Nathan Woodhouse’s life has been on pause since his beloved wife, Gayle, died nine months ago in a plane crash. In the aftermath he still grapples with his bisexuality that he’d hidden away since his teen years. To say goodbye to Garfield Island where Gayle grew up, Nathan visits her burial site and old friends and family.
In a chance encounter at 3 a.m. in a motel hallway, he meets shirtless 28-year-old Lucas Mirren. His very presence stirs something deep inside making Nathan feel alive for the first time since Gayle’s death. Lucas is granted a month-long photography project on the island, but Nathan is only there for a few more days. Both are deeply disappointed that it can only be a brief fling—until fate intervenes.

Unexpectedly, they return to the island at the same time and Nathan must decide if he can let go of his grief and take a chance with Lucas or risk losing him forever.
