Curvy accountants aren’t supposed to get happily-ever-afters… Are they?

An accountant by day, a popular romance bookstagrammer by night, I dream of my own happy ending. So when my boyfriend says he loves me, I’m ecstatic. I’m closer to my own happily ever after. Cue the wedding epilogue!
But no.
Three months later, he takes me to a romantic restaurant on my birthday, dumps me and evicts me from our home to make room for his fitness influencer girlfriend! Thankfully, my best friend’s brother, Nicholas Lasker, offers to let me crash at his gorgeous mansion. I return the favor by pretending to be his girlfriend to stop his baby-crazed Hollywood parents from sending him models to knock up—wait a minute…

Did I just fall into a romance novel?
A hot cinnamon-roll billionaire whose smile makes my belly flip—check.
His gorgeous library, full of books, completely at my disposal—check.
A beautiful home where all the chores are done for me so I can curl up guilt-free with a good read—or with Nicholas every evening—check.
When he bids five million dollars at a charity auction to win a dinner with me, our relationship starts to become all too real. This straight-out-of-a-romance-novel situation seems too good to be true. I’m just a curvy accountant. How can I measure up to the stunning socialites he’s used to?

Can a woman like me really pull off forever with my best friend’s brother?

I liked it, I don’t think Molly was dumb and I don’t think really anyone was to blame. I found it really refreshing and enjoyed it

This wasn't my favorite book of the Lasker brothers, but isn't the worst, I thoroughly enjoyed this book except the point where Molly and Nick break up, I find molly more relatable than the other girls in the Lasker books, so I understand her character a bit more, I don't think it's fair to categorize Molly as dumb, and I don't like how Noah handled the situation.

Molly just went through an abusive breakup on her birthday and forced to move out in a week, then she moves in with Nick, they fake date then later real date, so far they went on 1 real date and a couple of sex scenes, but never did Nick actually say "I love you" the cards don't count either btw, Molly is constantly put down by her dad and Owen, and like a victim, she believes it! Surprise surprise! She isn't aware of her self worth because she only had Georgia's shoulder to cry on for the past 8 years! Where was Nick? No where.

8+ years of abuse from everybody isn't going to disappear just because Nick spent 5+ mil on her or because he had sex w her, they had a relationship for less than 3 months and everybody wants to act like Molly is some gold digger for being afraid of being hurt again AFTER JUST BEING LET DOWN BY OWEN.

Nicholas does not say ANYTHING about his feelings for years and he just expects Molly to know, Nicholas bought those bracelets for years and she didn't know so ofc his brothers assume SHE'S the problem. Noah was the worst, I hope in the next book Bobbi puts him in his place like Aspen did w Grant. I have more to say but I think this is long enough

Absolutely agree with you. Nicolas behaved really badly in the end. After everything she went through, he practically abandoned her.... Ugly manipulation! He showered her with attention but did not declare love for her, and he expected her to read his mind or what? After Owen who left her on her birthday for another... Nicolas immediately grabbed her . Book disappointed me heavily with the ending because of MMC's behavior. So sad...

Molly is as dumb as a rock. I know her father was mentally and emotionally abusive to her all her life. But, Nicholas has made it clear they are dating and she is HIS girl. But.... When asked what Nicholas was to her. She doesn't answer. this is suppose to be a man she's had a huge crush on for years. but, can't tell him what he means to her. She doesn't deserve Nicholas. I actually found myself hating her towards the end.
