Daddy’s coming home for Christmas.
Before my best friend passed away, I promised him I’d look after his little girl. I’ve kept that promise for eighteen years, caring for Astrid as if she were my own—until the night she became mine, calling me Daddy on an empty playground.
That was four months ago, more than enough time for me to realize she’s the one I want to come home to. Her family’s renting a log cabin for Christmas, and as a de facto family member, I hold a standing invitation to their get-togethers. I’ve got one week to show Astrid that Daddy’s not just playing house. He’s playing for keeps.
But when I get my hands on her again, she feels different. Softer and fuller in places that can only mean one thing.
Santa stashed an early Christmas gift deep inside my baby, a secret that can’t stay secret for long…

Father Christmas, a part of A Filthy Dirty Christmas series (as well as a part of the Maple Ridge Christmas), was about almost 19-year-old Astrid, a college hopeful, and Greer and (age not mentioned) Finnegan "Finn" Wright, a lyricist and record producer. This one had a bit of a fun twist to it since it was part of two series. The fun part was that this story revisited the town of Maple Ridge where we first met Noelle, Sawyer, and his father Colton in a reverse harem situation. While it was a cute story, it felt like stepping into a movie that had already started and the reader somehow missed some of the most important parts of the movie/book. The short flashback to four months earlier wasn't enough to remove that feeling. It just made it worse because it wasn't done very well. It was also poorly titled. I mean, "Father Christmas" just didn't fit the storyline in any way, shape, or form. Although the two main characters and some of the secondary characters were fun to read about, others left a bad taste in the mouth and they could easily have been left out of the entire story because they just detracted from it. I could only give this a two-star rating because, not only did the story feel incomplete, the grammatical errors were horribly distracting. They were frequent and all too plentiful, to the point that they overpowered the story in its totality.
