Earl of Persuasion, the 28th book in the Wicked Earls' Club series (although, due to the 1817 date of this book, it probably should have been listed much earlier in the series...perhaps even 21st?), was about Lord Brian Kennington, Fifth Earl of Connlee, a man who was known for being quite adventurous as well as persuasive, and Lady Minerva Fox, sister to the Blake Fox, Earl of Edgemore (20th book in the Wicked Earls' Club series dated 1816), a young lady who craved adventures. Upon their first meeting, Brian, who did not bother to introduce himself, had jumped into Minerva's carriage and proceeded to flirt with her. After successfully getting him to exit the carriage, it was several months before Minerva saw him at a ball and he asked her to dance. From that point on, Brian was determined to help her fulfill some of the adventures she longed to experience, and he had even vowed to wed her if their adventures led to her ruin, even though he had sworn he would never marry. This story happened very fast. Though there was a lot of chemistry between Brian and Minerva, there really wasn't a lot of time for anything else to develop. Sure it had some angst and drama, but it didn't have time for a real romance. It was a tad...unrealistic. However, this book will join its series as a Keeper for the Shelves.
