Alpha dragon, Beryl Moonscale, finally visits the GGB to see off Pras Lavender and to hopefully attend his mum’s wedding. The latter has been pushed back more than once and he’s pretty sure he’s about to have his first younger sibling any day now. What he never expected to happen was to scent his true-mate and promptly be attacked by lion shifters, but that’s exactly what happens to him the night before the ritual.
Omega lion, Jade, isn’t taking any chances. When a magical ritual to banish the evil spirit of a dead ruler is scheduled to take place on Canton Valley Farm, he goes into lockdown mode. This would’ve worked out great if his adopted otter-shifter son didn’t sneak out in the middle of the night and fled from Beryl who was taking a late night stroll to clear his head.
The pair bump heads almost instantly. Jade doesn’t have room in his life for someone who isn’t ready to step up and be a dad. It takes Beryl some time to wrap his head around the true-mate response and where exactly he fits into Jade’s life. With a new threat lurking around the corner, will the true-mates be able to work things out in time when everything is on the line?
