I thought this would be a good novella, but I found many things that didn't sit quite so well with me. Normally I don't have a problem with a Daddy/LG story, but this one didn't seem to fit too well with that scenario. Mainly because it just didn't play out that way for most of the story and, when it did, it rang false. In fact, it was a poor attempt as a Daddy/LG-type story. The entire novella was rushed through as if the author was either ashamed of what she was writing...or had no clue as to how to do it properly. It left much to be desired. It was not a believable storyline. While it had its good points, I had some other major issues with it. The FMCs father (who wanted to marry his current GF) set up both the GF and his former BFF to do a "fidelity test"?! Then later the FMC caught her BF in HER bed...with her father's GF...and she didn't expose them to her father. She left the house in tears, went to her BFF's home, and made plans to be gone for the rest of the summer to mend her broken heart. Another issue was the fact that, after he learned about the FMC's plans to go to the cabin, the MMC tampered with the FMC's car so that she would break down on the way to the family cabin and he could finagle his way in so that he could seduce her. However, the most disgusting problem was the fact that the MMC drugged the FMC's milk on their first night at the summer cabin. His reasoning? He "wanted her to have a good night's rest..", but he "also wanted to explore her body without interruption". Did he have any remorse? Was there even a moment's hesitation on what he was about to do?! Oh sure, "For a split second, it felt wrong, hovering over her like a sick pervert, but the feeling passed...". That is a HARD NO for me. That was straight-up SA and there was no recovery from that, IMHO. She either consents willingly or IT. DOES. NOT. HAPPEN. Did that not bother anyone else but me? Another thing that bothered me, regarding the SA, was that the following morning the FMC realized what he had done, called him on it...and let it go without consequence?! What?! That in and of itself ruined the entire novella for me...full stop. Again, did that not bother anyone else?! That took away ALL the stars that would have given this novella any sort of rating.
