Amelia:
Dad promised me he’d stop sneaking into the Veil. He lied. Which is why I found a teaching job in the Court of His Highness, Gabriel the Virtuous. His school for misguided youth is nearest to the Veil. If he catches me sneaking around, I’m toast.
My problems mount when I meet Gabriel face to face—and my soul lights up and begins to dance. He’s six-feet-three of muscle with midnight-blue eyes and a body made for lust—which is decidedly not on his list of virtues.

Gabriel:
Keeping the peace among the Courts and containing Lucifer’s growing power is my top priority. But I never expected to meet my soul’s mate, and now that I have it’s all I can do to retain control of my instinct to breed.
I can’t afford to let anyone know Amelia is my weakness. But the Veil is cracking, and so is my resolve. When Lucifer takes her hostage, I may have to compromise every last one of my virtues to save her and keep the Courts from falling under Lucifer’s control.
