Corrupt by Penelope Douglas
Erika:
I was told that dreams were our heart’s desires. My nightmares, however, became my obsession.
His name is Michael Crist.
My boyfriend’s older brother is like that scary movie that you peek through your hand to watch. He is handsome, strong, and completely terrifying. The star of his college’s basketball team and now gone pro, he’s more concerned with the dirt on his shoe than me.
But I noticed him.
I saw him. I heard him. The things that he did, and the deeds that he hid…For years, I bit my nails, unable to look away.
Now, I’ve graduated high school and moved on to college, but I haven’t stopped watching Michael. He’s bad, and the dirt I’ve seen isn’t content to stay in my head anymore.
Because he’s finally noticed me.
Michael:
Her name is Erika Fane, but everyone calls her Rika.
My brother’s girlfriend grew up hanging around my house and is always at our dinner table. She looks down when I enter a room and stills when I am close. I can always feel the fear rolling off of her, and while I haven’t had her body, I know that I have her mind. That’s all I really want anyway.
Until my brother leaves for the military, and I find Rika alone at college.
In my city.
Unprotected.
The opportunity is too good to be true as well as the timing. Because you see, three years ago she put a few of my high school friends in prison, and now they’re out.
We’ve waited. We’ve been patient. And now every last one of her nightmares will come true.

I don't know what to say....
Good
It was dark that's true and I LOVE dark romance. But I didn’t like this one. FMC is so stupid. Like she forgave them so easily. And more over I am not into reverse harem or Harem. I love men like Aiden King,Zade Meadows,Levi King etc. I really really wanted to love this one Because of the ratings on bookstragram but I am afraid I didn’t. This is my personal opinion.
Hate stupid fmc.
it's so bad omg
Really wanted to like this. In fact, I'm still reading it even though it's annoying the crap out of me.
The issue is the characterization IMO. The plot? Interesting in its bare bones- a girl being set up/harassed/bullied as revenge because they think she sent them to prison, and one of them is in love with them? Fascinating, and it's handled well.
The problem? Every single character is entirely unlikeable. Not even in a edgy, sexy way; more like an entitled, out-of-touch, first-world-problems way. Everyone in here is doing shitty things out of either "revenge" or literally just being bored rich kids who want to be "different" so they play at being rebels and commit actual crimes... as pranks. It's not edgy. It's stupid. It's being so out of touch with reality that they think picking on everyone is cool. And no, beating would-be rapists to within an inch of their lives? It only shows the violence and entitlement inherent in those dudes including the hero, not the magnitude of the original wannabe rapist couple.
And the author had to make the 4 'bad guys' like OTT unrealistically 'evil' to try to make the main character out as a victim or sympathetic, but she is a wealthy spoiled person who has every opportunity and the kinds of problems she faces are cushioned by literally everything in her life.
If the dude really wanted to give her a taste of the real world he would have cut her off from her money and connections and just left her alone to cope.
Like, it's just a novel about rich, entitled assholes like that Martin Shrekelli. No one has any redeemable or even remotely relatable characteristics and I wanted them all to lose their money and pay for their own crimes instead of justifying them because the people they committed them against were also guilty.
Actually, not too shabby! Lots of twists, which I like, and enjoyed the story line of this book!! It kept me reading!!
This wasn't the best dark romance book i have ever read but it wasn't that bad..its a good quick pass time. The sex was super hot though and the chemistry between the main leads was amazing. But in terms of substance, it was kinda corny and a bit weird, this was a weird book....I feel like the author had the chance to make this really fucking dark but chose to be somewhere in between instead.... I was expecting murder, rape and abuse or some shit like that.
Noo not baby girl having magic healing pussy😭😭🤣🤣🤣And I quote " he looked down at me with calm and a new confidence. “I have no words,” he said. “Just ‘thank you.’”
aaah nooo... that shit killed me!..💀💀💀😭😭😭 she better tell us where she got her juju from.... shit was too funny though.
10/10🌶💥💋
goood
This was actually better than I expected with the beginning kinda slow but I did enjoy it...
what do you mean

I love this book great first book of the series!
This book was THE BEST.
good for you ig
When it comes to such type of books, you can't help but finish them.
This bookkkkkk is awesome and people who are commenting that this book is disturbing it's because it's "dark romance"
I like dark romance but a few things in this book disturbed me very much. I won't specifically mention them so as to not spoil it but yeah this book is pretty intense so you have to lock your feelings before reading this one. The relationship between the main characters can be only described as toxic but since this is a dark romance its expected. That being said, I personally liked the book at some parts and hated it at the others but I am really glad I completed this book.
One of my favourite books! Can’t get enough!! Brilliant! Penelope Douglas is a goddess 🤗
Completely a garbage. It was like 4 guys taking advantage of a helpless girl without no aim. They tried to show this book as a dark romance. Rather it is a rubbish book.
The only complete garbage here is you!You clearly didn't understand the book because it was really good and was perfectly shown as a dark romance!Don't be out here calling it a rubbish book cause you probably couldn't write something half as good as corrupt. You need to get that through your tiny peanut brain! Also you must have had a really bad English teacher cause your grammar sucks.Your sentences didn't make sense AT ALL
Could've done without that epilogue. Killed it for me
Awesome read! Penelope Douglas Is my new fav author!
Such a good book, if you like dark romances or looking for something edgy this is the book for you.
a waste of time, that's what the book is...

Your the waste of time and your parents wasted time making you cause look how you turned out
