Brutal Intentions was about 18-year-old Mia Bianchi (the "Bianchi's family shame") and 29-year-old Lazzaro "Laz" Rosetti, her 41-year-old mother's new husband. I don't like books that have cheating in them. I really don't. Although this book does include cheating, I have to say I enjoyed it. No, not the cheating part, but the story itself. I know...doesn't make sense, does it? I don't agree that there is ever a good reason for cheating. I don't excuse it, and I don't applaud it. I wish that this couple had found another way to be together without having an extramarital affair. Laz's marriage to Mia's mother had been arranged by his older siblings in order to "rein him in" and make him settle down before he was allowed to receive his inheritance. It was not a love match by any means. He was also expected to get her mother pregnant to prove to his siblings he was following orders. His marriage was NOT one of convenience, because he WAS having sex with her mother in the beginning. But after a while, he was doing his best to have sex with Mia instead, although she was doing her best to keep him at arms' length. But that wasn't going too well for her. Once he had turned his focus onto Mia, he stopped having intimate relations with her mother. Since Laz was forced to marry a woman he didn't love or want, he chose to take his frustrations out on the one person who didn't or couldn't fight back, and that was Mia. Her entire family, from her mother and one of her sisters to her mother's three brothers, acted as if Mia didn't even exist. They, too, went out of their way to torment her at every turn. At dinner one night, Laz asked them why they all treated her like shit but, just as they ignored Mia all the time, they chose to act as if he wasn't there, too. But Laz answered his own question, much to Mia's horror. Once the truth had been spoken allowed, Laz's attitude toward Mia changed. He didn't quit with the verbal abuse right away, but his sexual attentions amped up PDQ, and things started to develop at a faster rate. The affair between Mia and Laz lasted for several months before he came up with a way out of the predicament in which they found themselves. However, he chose to not share his thoughts with Mia, so when things finally came to a head, it all blew up in both of their faces. One thing led to another, and Laz found himself not only beaten and tortured but he was also thrown into a cage and forced to sleep on a cement floor for weeks. While he was held captive, Mia was lied to by her mother and uncles, all of who were trying to get her to turn against Laz. This was a dark story, filled with angst, drama, fear, hate, pain, and yes, even love. It was an emotional rollercoaster from beginning to end. The storyline flowed smoothly, and the plot was well-developed. The two main characters were both mature, although they were also tortured in their spirits. Both were considered the black sheep of their respective families, and they were not well-loved by said families. They both had a lot of growing to do, but they did have some growth before the end. Even though it was a book filled with cheating, I still was able to enjoy it, surprisingly enough. I don't usually say that, but even I'm surprised I liked it. I didn't enjoy how Laz treated Mia, especially in the beginning. Oh sure, she was a Bianchi, but she was a much reviled Bianchi. He shouldn't have taken his anger out on the one person who could have been an ally from the beginning. He treated her like shit in the beginning, and it didn't really improve all that much until the last chapter and into the epilogue. He didn't think how his actions would affect her where their families were concerned. He just wanted out of his marriage...and he wanted her, so he did everything HIS way, regardless of what would happen to her when their relationship became public knowledge. Nor did he consider what his revelations would do to HIM, either. Still, it was a well-written story and deserved a 3.5-star rating, rounded up to four.

The dub con and grooming aspects discouraged me but I did find myself rooting for the lovers in the end because of their circumstances. I actually found this story quite amusing against my better judgement.

Как не прочитать книгу, с такой обложкой ?😍В начале я была немного не уверена, нравиться ли мне это, так как Лаз был придурком. Совершенно несносным и незрелым, который просто издевался над Мией, потому что он злится из-за своего брака по расчету с женщиной гораздо старше. Миа - полный изгой в своей семье и просто пытается залечь на дно, пока не закончит школу. Я полностью проглотила эту книгу. Лаз одержим Мией. Он не может оставить её одну, но в то же время сходит с ума, защищая еë. Мне нравилось, как он рос эмоционально, но его основная личность осталась прежней. Он все еще был самоуверенным и несносным. Мия была сосредоточена на выживании в попытках сохранить свое тайное "я" в безопасности. Химия между ними была сорвана с цепи, и все эти подлые, дерзкие вещи были супер горячими🌶🔥.
