Blackmailing the Virgin

I found this book a bit off compared to others I've read by A.R. It wasn't as good as its predecessor. Unlike the first book in the series, this one needed more content. There were some pretty obvious holes in the storyline that really needed to be filled with information. For instance, there was quite a lack of information regarding the MMC's background which was pretty vital to the story. Also, the main characters only met twice before falling into bed together. The first time, the MMC kissed the FMC without first knowing who she was. They exchanged only a few words before that occurred. The second meeting was during a dinner at her dad's home after which the MMC went to her room and woke her up to have sex. When he realized she'd been a virgin, he left. They didn't meet again for another 5-6 months, at which time he blackmailed her into marrying him. The storyline had some issues that weren't resolved, such as, what happened to the emails he sent her. Did she ever get to read them? What did he write to her? Other such issues occurred throughout the novella and only left more questions than answers. There wasn't a whole lot of interaction between the two main characters either, outside of the bedroom. The author didn't allow them to grow or for their characters to have any kind of development. It stagnated. The whole thing was a bit convoluted and unrealistic. However, since it was a work of fiction, it was...almost...believable. For what it's worth, the story was a fun, sensuous, spicy reading. So...I gave it a three-star rating. I just wish it had been as good as Book 1 because it had the potential to be a five-star book.
