Lex Murphy is a two-time gold medallist heavyweight boxer from Barking with a cologne deal and a running bet with his mates that he can pull the frostiest man in the Village. He’s identified Barnaby as his target. His target has responded by putting on headphones and fleeing on a treadmill.
Lex has never, in his entire career, chosen the easier fight. Barnaby has never let anyone close enough to land a hit.
The smart move would be to keep it physical. Spend a few weeks together in the Village, then head back to their own worlds—Barnaby to his horses, Lex to his title fights. That way, there’ll be no complications, no tabloids, and no one gets hurt.
