Decide to post another comment after finishing the book. Brian will probably piss you off, frequently, like he did to me. He kept dismissing Sasha's work-related concerns with a shitty client and instead told her to remain professional. Which, in turn, made Sasha extremely insecure about her job; fueling her anxiety. Some people may enjoy the sex club scene, but that shit really turned me off from him; he barely redeemed himself. Actually, I still somewhat dislike him overall. The author really should have given him a better character arc for resolving his control freak/mommy issues. It really wasn't resolved.

So the adoptive (loving) parents thankfully supported her through her latest panic attack, and reaffirmed their love for her. A little lacking but nice. Am still positive Addison is a bitch despite her recent bout of post-partum depression. Like the shit she said about being "real sisters" and the other critiques (I assume) she's said over the years. I'm trying not to project; but she's been picking at Sasha for years. The author really doesn't explain why none of her family members visited her once after moving.

I really feel for Sasha. I feel all the hurt and anger that should be lobbed at all the assholes in her life. It was sad to witness her insecurities and shame over being adopted/struggling with anxiety despite her accomplishments and loving parents. Especially when Brian decided to be a jackass in both professional and personal capacities. Why didn't she get introduced to Mark earlier? He seemed fairly decent. Instead she ends up with Brian who claims he loved her for eight years but couldn't wait two weeks (from their failed hook up) and fucked a wedding singer. He didn't even bother to ask why Sasha left, which is quite out of character for his nosey ass.

I'm still reading when posting this comment: her sister, Addison, is such a bitch! I don't know if she was a main character in another book by this author, but FUCK HER!

So, the MC is adopted and has developed an anxiety disorder since she learned of it (had it for 16 years). This is well defined in the first couple chapters, so not really a spoiler. This bitch had the nerve to downplay the MC's work accomplishments and insist that to be fulfilled she needed to have kids and a husband, in front of her (friendly) ex. She's so unsympathetic to the fact the MC might be afraid of having kids due to her being adopted. The family was good to her, but clearly prioritized their biological child over her. I'm sure that they'll bring this up later on, excusing that since the MC wanted space/got out of dodge they wanted to respect her boundaries. TOTAL BULLSHIT! The MC has wanted them to visit her for years and was willing to cover the expenses. That bitch tried to say the parents were too busy with the grandchildren to go see her! DON'T HAVE KIDS IF YOU CAN'T TAKE CARE OF THEM YOURSELF!!! Yes, you can get help from your family but why have so many kids if you can't be there for them? 4 kids, this unfulfilled bitch keeps popping them out instead of being productive. I don't mind full-time housewives, but what else is she doing? What else does she have in her life aside from her kids and husband? People, especially housewives, need some form of self-actualization. It's hard to maintain a home in pristine condition. But what else is important to them? What other interests do they pursue?

I SWEAR if the family tries to guilt the MC for leaving town FUCK 'EM ALL! It's the parents responsibility to mend the issues they caused, not properly telling her about being adopted/keeping in proper touch with her.
