Phoenix was badly burned in a flash fire and his siblings brought him in to civilization to get him medical care. As he is now doing physical therapy and still cannot shift into his wolf, Phoenix and his siblings must try to assimilate into human society for at least as long as he is recovering. Ida works for an organization that helps shifters with their transition into the human world. She is very proud of what she does for a living and feels she is making a contribution to society. When she is assigned to Phoenix’s case she is apprehensive since she has never worked with a wild- shifter before. He and his family are starting from scratch as they have had very little contact with humans. Since none of them have skills that will transfer into a human job, they are stuck living in pitiful housing and existing off a subsidy.
Jackson who is the oldest brother of Seth and Raph who are twins he is always the moody, grumpy one of the family his mother Elizabeth took him in after his parents where killed and found out he was a wolf-shifter when he turned under the full moon Seth and Raph are also adopted he was their brother and father figure. He has loved Kayla from afar for many years he was always grumpy, moody and says too old and dangerous for her made it felt as though he didn’t like her. Kayla had a crush on Jackson for years but he crushed that a year ago when he said they could never be friends she crushed all feelings for him and now completely ignored him. Due to bad weather they are forced together and a full moon is coming they end up in the families cabin where their is a basement where he chains himself to the walls as he says he is dangerous. The wolf scents Kayla his mate breaks the chains and as the door hadn’t latched closed he gets into the living area and there stands Kayla the wolf just watches her his mate.Jackson admits to Kayla why he has been horrible to her and can’t keep it too himself anymore.
