Tall and thin, twenty-eight-year-old Bronwyn Palmer has become positively gaunt, a ghost of her former self. That self was?and still is?the wife of a rich, handsome executive with an ocean-view house and his own security staff.

It was in that house, two years ago, that Bryce Palmer learned Bronwyn was pregnant with their first child. But Bryce’s rage over his impending fatherhood touched off a chain reaction of emotional and physical traumas that wounded them both. For Bronwyn, it meant fleeing the perfect marriage to start over with nothing but a precocious daughter named Kayla to care for. For Bryce, it meant a tortuous two years spent blaming his wife for deserting him, and living with the pain of not knowing his child. Now a chance encounter has brought Bronwyn back into Bryce’s life, both bearing scars?and neither knowing the whole truth of that fateful night that drove them apart.

Due to the polarizing opinions, I decided to check this out. It seems readers either loved it or hated. While I didn't outright hate the content, I do agree some of the emotional abuse went over the top. I understand it's to build sympathy and a redemption arc but it definitely left me uncomfortable. The other complaint, for my tastes, was that it got repetitive. Several times, she comes to the conclusion that her marriage is over, there's no way to reunite and then within a couple pages, she's devastated and crying because she loves him and made an overture to reconcile and was rebuffed. After 4 or 5 times, take the hint and stop doing that to yourself! That and the same argument over and over to death. Wasn't for me.

While it wasn't as good as the first book in the series, it was a decent read. It had some grammatical errors, and pushed boundaries that might make some people uneasy when they read it, it was definitely worth reading.

Boring. I actually don't understand these women don't they have self respect? Jumping into bed with the man who ill treats them. The final part of the book vwas a waste of time - she really didn't know what to do.

@JenY maybe you should try out her book; The unwanted wife. It is absolutely amazing even though the hero is a super jerk in the beginning, yet u kind of start empathizing with him in the end. Natasha Anders has a talent for turning jerk heroes into redeemed ones.

HI BG, I've read that one and gonna be honest--didn't like it. Felt like it had the same issues as this book, heaping abuse on the heroine in a way that made her look wimpy and spineless. Not judging, some people like those emotional type of stories. I just can't get past sleeping/being romantic with someone who--toyour face--goes out of their way to hurt you.

Whining martyr lady, abusive male; maybe it's just me but I don't think i'd be making out with a guy 20 seconds after he threatened that I'd never get to see my child again. One of those books where author heaps abuse on the heroine and she cries and takes it over and over

how stupid do you have to be to have sex with a guy who insults before, during, and after the sex every damned time?

Natasha is one of my favorite authors. I absolutely loved this one too. Both Bryce and Browyn had me in tears. The H appears to be a bastard at first but his past is too painful and it makes me feel his pain and his love for his wife. Thanks for uploading this book.
