Eight years gone, and I can’t get Finn out of my head. They say you carry a flame for your first love, but with Finn, it’s a d@mn forest fire.
He was hurt bad when he was on active duty, and now that he’s back, rumor has it he’s not putting in an ounce of work to deal with the injury. They say he’s a powder keg, and they warn me not to get caught in the explosion.
Thing is, I’m training to be a smokejumper. I’m drawn to that heat; and terrified or not, I want to believe Finn needs me. And my scorched heart still says we can make it.
