Lady Sarah believed she’d found her one true love. But feelings can be deceiving…

It’s going to be the wedding of the season…at least that’s what her mother keeps saying. Unfortunately for Sarah, it’s not her own nuptials that have the family in such a twitter, but her brother’s. Still, Sarah’s own love, Mr. Emmet Stallworth, a merchant, is in faraway lands where he’s attempting to earn enough to ask for her hand, so why not throw herself into preparations for her brother’s marriage?

Except…everything begins to go wrong.

Stallworth returns only to announce that he’s already married. Sarah waited for him, how could he do this to her? And then there’s the annoying Earl of Everly who seems to pop up at the least convenient times. The arrogant rake has that knowing smile and he keeps poking at her wounds.
But when she nearly ruins her brother’s big day, it’s Everly who saves her. In that moment, Sarah can’t help but wonder if her heart had it wrong after all…

‘Tis the Season for Lady Sarah, Book 4 of A Wallflower's Wish series, was about Lady Sarah Langston, sister of Lord Maximus "Max" Langston, and Lord Theodore "Theo" the Earl of Everly 18 months before her brother's wedding, Sarah had planned a late-night rendevous with a man she believed herself to be in love with who was leaving for an extended trip to India. On the night she was to meet him, she was stopped by Theo, who had already chased away her would-be lover. Theo had been asked by Sarah's brother, Max, to look after her while he was away fighting in the war and he took it seriously...almost to the point of being the "overbearing big brother". His actions did not endear him to Sarah. Every time they met thereafter, the two of them fought at every turn, for he continued to treat her like an irresponsible child instead of a grown woman. Since Theo would be at the wedding of her brother, Sarah fought hard to avoid him. When her would-be love returned, Sarah thought she'd finally get her happy-ever-after...except, he didn't come alone. He was engaged. This story had so many twists and turns you'd think that it was a maze instead of a book. The angst and drama were over the top high. There was very little humor, a great deal of tug-of-war anger/resentment, and a whole lot of friction between the two main characters. While the two main characters were well-developed, some of the others left much to be desired. They were mature, full of integrity, and almost human. But the ones that weren't so well thought out were such minor characters that it didn't harm the story. This was a quick read and didn't really deserve a five-star rating. It felt a little too contrived and rushed, giving the romance little time to truly develop.
