Colin Undinger was my first friend, first crush, first kiss… until one day he made it to the High School Football Team and somehow became my first enemy.
Five years later, no one knows why we are nasty to each other. He’s now the school star, causing me to be the unpopular school b**ch.
Why should I care, though? I don’t love him anymore. I just need to keep ignoring him. Right?
Wrong.
When both his parents suddenly die and my mom offers him to stay with us my plan is screwed.
No matter if he is so heart-broken, so gorgeous, so close… he broke my heart once, I won’t let him get closer again.
Even if he’s the only one who can make it race.

Trigger warning: this story contains scenes that some may find distressing.

This book is fucked up. What you think will be a sweet, yet sad due to the mention of the hero’s parents deaths in the summary is instead a weirdly dark book with an unlikable heroine and way too much build up and repetition and referencing of the backstory that was clearly laid out in the prologue. The ending is way too abrupt and the way it starts off as well as its premise and much of its tone is too laidback and innocent to be alongside so much angst as well as too much dragging out of secondary conflicts. The book really could’ve benefited from less of the soap opera drama and a less hurried and abrupt ending as well as having a better epilogue set much farther in the future. Super weird and disappointing read.
