She’s been mine from the second I saw her. Tonight, I’ll make sure everyone knows that.
The tabloids call me “Prince Magnum,” and it’s not because I’ve got a big kingdom.
A royal “suitor’s ball”, full of single, untouched female royalty, should be a buffet for a man like me. It doesn’t matter what a woman’s bloodline is – once I’ve set my sights on her, she’ll be on her knees in minutes.
But that’s before I walk in and lock eyes with her. Princess Imogen.

She’s sweet and untouched, with eyes that beg me to take her and an innocence that’s just waiting to be claimed. Once I’ve seen her, nothing is going to stop me from taking what’s mine…
And Imogen will be mine.
A “suitor’s ball” to find her a husband, huh?
F*ck that.
She’s been mine and only mine since the minute I laid eyes on her. And tonight, I’m going to make this princess my queen.

Stealing Beauty, Book 2 of the Possessing Beauty series, was about 20-year-old Princess Imogen Morningstar, the middle child of King Lucian Morningstar of Avlion, and Magnus Jameson, Prince Regent of Zale (no age stated). Imogen's father, King Lucian of Avlion, had decided it was time to throw a "suitor's ball" for all “eligible bachelors and bachelorettes” across the kingdoms, in hopes that his three daughters would find their matches. While Imogen enjoyed the pomp and circumstance of the world she lived in, she had not been looking forward to the ball, mainly because Prince Magnus, who was well-known for being a "dark, filthy-mouthed, crude-talking, perverted, scandalizing, morally repugnant" man, would be in attendance. He was also a man who had earned the tabloid nickname of "Prince Magnum", apparently due to the size of his...umm...yeah, that. Another reason that Imogen wasn't looking forward to the ball was that she had accidentally met Magnus four weeks earlier, and in a most unusual way. She wasn't looking forward to seeing him any time soon, either, but she knew it was more than a chance they would run into each other at the ball at some point during the night. Magnus had taken full advantage of his "mega-rich bachelor" status and bedded anything with two legs, and as often as he could. So much so that he had the "bad boy" reputation all the tabloids loved to exploit and write about. That is, he did until he saw "Claire D’Claire" sunning beside the pool at his Ibiza hotel. Determined to bed her as quickly as possible, he found out who she was, procured the key to her penthouse room, and let himself in to wait for her. When she returned to her room, he was naked on her bed. But she didn't respond to him the way all the other women did. Oh, he was sure she had been aroused and interested. But she didn't take him up on the offer. Instead, she not only left the room but also checked out of the hotel and left the country. But something had happened to Magnus after that incident. He was no longer interested in all the women who literally threw themselves at him, to the point he felt broken. He was no longer interested in a cheap thrill. He only wanted "Claire"...a woman he found out didn't exist. He'd tried to find her but to no avail. Which only made things worse because she was the only woman he seemed to want from the moment he saw her. No one else would do. Well, that was until he walked into the ballroom and laid eyes on...Princess Imogen...his mystery woman from his Ibiza hotel. When he realized who she was, all bets were off and he was determined no other man would have her. She was his. Like the book before it, this one was a modern-day insta-love retelling of the fairytale "Cinderella". It had a touch more angst and drama, with a bit of rivalry too. There was more push/pull between the two main characters, as well as some humor. Unfortunately, it was less believable than Book 1, and less interesting, especially as the MMC was more egotistical, more of a manwh*re, and more self-absorbed. The FMC was also less believable in that she was more rebellious than her younger sister, but perhaps not as salacious as her older sister. Even the spice level in this one was a little underwhelming. I could only give this story a two-star rating.
