Five years ago, she was stolen from me.
But now I’m back from the dead to reclaim what’s mine.
Here comes the bride.
Again, and again, and again…
What a woman like Juliana ever saw in a dirty roughneck Marine like me I’ll never understand. But I’m a man who knows what he wants, and I wanted her. I stole her heart, made her my wife, and saw the rest of my life with her.
…And then, I died.

At least, that’s what the man who left me for dead told her while I sat in chains, forgotten in a Taliban prison for five damn years.
Five years in a pit in the desert does something to a man. It’s made me hardened, feral, and wild. It’s made me hungry for the one woman I ever wanted, and driven to the brink of madness to have her soft curves in my rough hands again. Five years in hell have made me ready to move heaven and earth to get my bride back in my arms.
My enemy tried to bury me and take what’s mine. Except, he didn’t dig deep enough. Because I just broke out of my prison, and now?
Now I’m coming back to reclaim what’s mine.
Five years ago, Juliana thought she lost me. A week ago, I came back from the dead. Tonight, I’m stealing her back.
‘Til death do us part?
Oh, it’s going to take a lot more than that…

This novella had a different slant to its story than the other two in the series. It was more serious, more sinister, and even more deserving of being a full-length novel. It would be nice to see the author take this trilogy and revamp all three of them into stories with more meat, more grit, a boatload more angst, and perhaps even go into greater detail about the comeuppance each villain was made to swallow. Side Note: While there was some abuse and torture in the story (physical, emotional, psychological, verbal, and mental) it was NOT between the two main characters. There was also betrayal...again NOT between the Hero and Heroine. That was all focused on the Hero and what he had to endure before returning home from the military. There was blackmail, too. But that was focused on the Heroine and was NOT by the Hero. Read the novella. You'll find out what I mean. It was, by far, the darker of the three novellas but no less gripping. The main characters were...well, I was going to say "FUN" to read about, but that's not quite true, considering all that these two had to endure, and how long they had to wait, to get to their HEA. The steam level of this story was pretty hot, but it would have been even better if there was more background that built up to each scene. I mean, it's nice to read about them going at it hot and heavy, but a girl likes to see the passion go from flat to volcanic from time to time. With that said, I believe I will give this a four-star rating and encourage others to give the novella a try.
