Logan Sterling is in for quite a surprise…several, actually.
Logan thinks of himself as a pretty smart werewolf, until he makes a truly stupid deal with a shady warlock named Kai. As usual, Logan puts his pack’s needs first, risking his future happiness to save one of his own. While the warlock’s help is invaluable to the pack’s cause, the deal Logan makes is too nebulous to know its possible future ramifications. But, it’s too late now. All Logan can do is keep moving forward, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
August finds the small shifter pack settling in to Tuscaloosa, Alabama with Logan once again acting as temporary alpha. Logan quickly finds himself directionless while Ben, Adam, and Ryan all study circles around him in search of the elusive college degree. Izzy even makes a name for himself in the local catering scene, despite a mystery illness the pierced wolf can’t seem to shake. While the job Logan manages to get may add to their bank account, it’s not enough to make up for the way it subtracts from Logan’s self-worth.
Logan’s ready to throw in the towel when Kai shows up again, ready to claim his end of their bargain. As Logan suspected, it’s more than he’s willing to give. Chaos ensues and Logan’s forced to decide whose happiness he can live with the most – his family’s, his own, or his soul mate’s. Logan’s certain someone is going to get shafted no matter what decision he makes.
