Pollyanna and the Greek Billionaire: Innocent and Betrayed (Also titled The Greek Billionaire's Deceived Wife ) was about Pollyanna "Polly" (Graham) Gazis and the billionaire Kyrillos "Kyr" Gazis. Side Note: Depending on the version you choose to read, this book is actually broken down into either 3 or 4 short stories of 10 chapters each. In The Greek Billionaire's Deceived Wife, you'll find all four short stories in one binding. This version is broken down into four separate short stories as well, or you can read the three of them separately.

I truly wanted to hate this book. I mean, I literally had it marked as "not interested in reading" in one of its versions. I told myself I would NOT read it. But I just couldn't walk away from it. Oh, for months I did just that. I even forgot about it for a while. But when the newer version showed up in my Kindle Unlimited recommendations, I gave a deep sigh of resignation...and caved into reading it. So, what did I think about it? Read the following review and find out.

Kyr had been in love with Ana Jenner for as long as he could remember. They had become lovers when he was just 15, and their relationship lasted for nine long years. Everyone on the island knew about them and smiled at how happy they were. However, Ana wasn't satisfied with life on the island. She wanted a career in Hollywood. Kyr tried to convince her to stay and give him more time to make the island profitable and for him to make his fortune. However, when he was 24, she turned him away and went off to Hollywood leaving him behind. Because of her rejection, Kyr's heart became hardened, making him cold towards everyone. Four years later, 18-year-old Pollyanna Graham showed up on the island to visit her godparents, who just so happened to be Ana's parents...except Polly didn't know that. No one ever told her anything about Kyr's past or the woman he had loved. By that time, Ana was one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood...and Kyr was a cold-hearted S.O.B. But there was something about Polly that called to him as no other woman ever had and, after knowing each other for only two months, Kyr asked Polly to marry him. Although she had told him repeatedly that she loved him, he had never once returned the sentiment. Putting it down as some men just didn't verbalize their feelings, Polly believed he did, in fact, love her in return. The one thing Polly always wanted to do was to get a higher education. However, Kyr always found a reason for her to delay doing so, the first reason being her being pregnant with twins. Eight years and four kids later, Polly still had not been able to convince Kyr to let her go to school or even get a job. Deciding to throw an anniversary celebration that included not only their friends and family but the entire island and some well-known celebrities as well, Polly went in search of her husband so they could begin the festivities. However, what she wasn't prepared to find was Kyr locked in the embrace of another woman, and their lips locked in what appeared to be a passionate kiss. But it wasn't just any woman, it was Ana, Kyr's lost love. Realizing that Polly had witnessed the embrace, he went after her, fearing he had made the biggest mistake of his life...for he suddenly realized she was the love of his life and he was on the verge of losing her if he hadn't already. It was after that embrace that life became surreal for both Polly and Kyr. She had become the cold-hearted woman he had prayed to never witness in his lovely wife, and he had become the man who was finally willing to do whatever was necessary to save his marriage. It was a devastating story to "watch" play out in writing, but oh how it played out! It was gut-wrenching and heartbreaking. The angst and drama were very high and OTT, but the storyline called for them to be, and they did not disappoint. Normally when there are children written into a story, the authors often forget to include them. Not so with this book. The four little plot moppets were prominent from the beginning to the very end, and they made the story that much more real. Without them, it might just have fallen apart. It was interesting to see how the characters developed and changed with each new nuance in the book. Polly started out this weepy-eyed, willowy, easily swayed ingenue who swiftly turned into the stoic, cold-hearted, closed-off sophisticated businesswoman hiding her true self behind a mask. But it was just the opposite for Kyr. He had been the cold-hearted bstrd who became the soft-spoken, broken, needy, love-sick man desperate to win back the love of his betrayed, broken wife and family. The way they both changed, regressed, hardened, softened, and grew throughout the book was a work of art. The plot twists were swift and plentiful, with a rollercoaster ride of emotions that ran the gamut and kept hitting hard all the way to the end. They started out rough, lightened for a moment, then grabbed the reader by the heartstrings and tugged until the heart bled for each of the two main characters at various points. It was hard to know whether or not to hate one or the other at any given moment. They both hurt each other when they would lash out in their pain. But the way they would come back together and heal each other was amazing as well. I would have liked to see a little more comeuppance for certain characters, but in the end, it really didn't matter. The way it turned out, it was enough that the two main characters got their HEA. There was a...err...scene, for the lack of a better description...that was a bit, err, questionable (yet funny and spicy at the same time) that caused the reader to quirk an eyebrow or two. But I'll let the next reader find out what it was for themselves (a bit of a tongue-in-cheek remark, even if I do say so myself). For what it's worth, coming from someone who had not wanted to read this story, I found it highly entertaining and worthy of a five-star rating and to be added to my Keeper for the Shelves collection...just for the hell of it.
