Abigail, an abused and forcibly sheltered wife, befriends a kind stranger she meets on the train during her morning commute in New York city. Thomas, a well off Englishman, insists she goes to the police when her violent husband goes too far. Cast out of her husband’s home, Abigail takes Thomas up on his offer of leasing his spare bedroom until she is on her feet again.

Abigail is torn when she learns that Thomas is, in fact, an up-and-coming A-list actor. But Thomas makes it clear he cherishes her friendship since Abigail sees him as simply the man she met on the train. She regains her independence, chasing her dreams once more. Abigail reconnects with her best friend, Donna, and makes a new connection with the attractive businessman in Thomas’ building. But she’s finding that her friendship with Thomas is growing into something more. An old love of Thomas’ returns when Abigail’s, now former, husband is released from jail and she begins to fear for the safety of her new life.
