My Earl’s Entrapment, Book 3 of the Wicked Lords of London series, was about Lord William "Will" Addington, the Earl of Addington, and Lady Roselyn Pennington (the book lists her name as Lady Roselyn CHASE, not Pennington!), daughter of Lord Reagan, the Marquess of Reagan. Being forced into retirement from serving as a spy to the Crown was not easy for Will. It left him with too much idle time on his hands, and not enough to occupy his mind. His last job for the Crown had involved his discreet investigation of a ring of thieves led by the Marquess of Hightower. However, when the Marquess was caught, it brought disgrace to Will's family name because the truth could not be revealed without telling the world he was ... or at least had been ... a spy. Since the Marquess had been incarcerated, the investigation had ground to a complete halt without revealing who was behind the Marquess' thievery. Will was determined to get to the bottom of it and at the same time, clear his family name. Will, with his name in tatters, accepted a rare invitation to a house party...the same one that Rose and her father were also attending. While he didn't pay much attention to her for the first few days after her arrival, he definitely became aware of her when he caught her snooping in his room. Rose had convinced her father to attend the house party so she could get close to Will. Unbeknownst to him, she believed the rumors that he was a destitute thief that had joined the Marquess of Hightower in stealing jewelry and other items and selling them. Will, for his part, was still investigating the stolen jewels and believed the thieves would be attending the house party too. What followed could only be considered one of the more romantic love stories of the series. Neither of them was expecting to fall in love and yet, the chemistry and passion could not be denied. The angst and drama were minimal, but there was humor as well as a touch of intrigue. This was definitely a 5-star story and it will be added to my Keeper for the Shelves collection.
