Brief Happenstance

I really enjoyed this book except... its description during action scenes. Its like all the words were trying to unsuccessfully paint an image of what was happening when magic was in play but I just wasn't getting it. It left me frustrated because chapter 17 seems pivotal, but it was like "watching" an action movie with my eyes closed. I couldn't tell what was happening so the whole thing was just plain confusing. And I was so into the story, because its a good story, so I was left all the more frustrated, because I actually care to understand exactly what is happening.
