Okay so I'm only up to chapter 16 and I'm having a really hard time continuing. First off, I was totally blindsided by a rather detailed rape scene within the first few chapters. I hate to post spoilers, but personally if I had known it was there I would have waited to start this book until I was out of my current low mental state. And second, Brian and Maya are annoying me so much. Maya I can cut a little slack due to what happens to her, but even that can only excuse so much. Then Brian, just, good lord.

Thank you for this. I wondered if that is what happened to her as I read the blurb. These are situations I avoid. You saved me from the imagery. I was already iffy on adding a "new" author to my full lineup.
