I Despise You by Evelyn Ferras

1 ratings

My new school is everything I’ve ever dreamed of, and my chance for a better life.
Then I meet him.
Cruel, arrogant, and devastatingly handsome, Chase rules the school, and if the rumors about him are true, he’s a heartless monster who can get away with just about anything.
And the worst thing is, he and I are fighting for the same thing: a spot at the prestigious Richerville University.
Now, his attention is on me, and he won’t leave me alone.
But I won’t let him break me.
I will win, no matter what it takes.

I Despise You is a standalone dark high school bully romance with potentially triggering situations and is intended for mature audiences.

This made no sense. Like, absolutely NONE. Spoiler alert Everything happened so fast with no real pacing or clear motive, the main character falls for a drug addict who assaults her on accident (he didn't know that she wasn't there to sleep with him), and the little investigation into what happened with his dad is so unrealistic. Now, I'm not saying books about rich schools with dark undertones can't be good, but in this case, it was utter b.s. cannot stand it. My opinion though.
