Selena: The man of the house is a total a$$hole. He thinks he can tell me what to do because this is HIS house so we have to play by HIS rules. When he screams at me for going out in a slinky outfit (that I only put on to piss him off), I decide to raise the stakes. Sure, I’ll change out of the mini-skirt and halter top but when I finally come out of my room, let’s just say I’m pink, creamy, and glistening … with my curves on display and ready to play. Will the alpha male take the bait? Or will he resist the urge and run me off for good?

This book is a follow-up to Filthy Twin Carpenters, but all of my stories are standalones and can be read in any order. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and always a HEA for my readers.

His House His Rules was about 25-year-old Selena Fillmore and her former stepfather, 48-year-old Clancy Quinn. Good grief but this book was hard to write a review about. It was so different from most of this author's usual writing style. The MMC had been married to the mother of the FMC for only a few months when she died in a car accident. The FMC had only been 10, so the MMC sent her away to boarding school, and then to college. They only had minor interactions and nothing that would promote a father/daughter relationship for fifteen years. Once the FMC showed up at his home needing a place to stay, things were hot and heavy almost from the beginning. But it was...NOT the typical spicy relationship. There was an icky feeling to it that I can't seem to describe properly. But this 25-year-old FMC had a vibe that didn't sit well with me. The whole book had a vibe I didn't enjoy. Oh, it wasn't their relationship or even the age gap. It was the tone of the book itself that threw me off. While the flow was...okay, but something about the way the author wrote this didn't work for me.
