Hawk Larson left small-town Indiana to become one of the most famous quarterbacks on the planet, throwing winning passes for the Bears and living the dream. Life looked picture-perfect from the outside, but after five years, he still can’t shake the memory of the one thing he left behind…the girl who owned his heart and crushed it one fateful night.

After an injury benches Hawk for good, he returns to the town he left, confronting the past and running headfirst into an unexpected future.

Life hasn’t been easy in the five years since he left, and Morgan Quinn isn’t the same girl she once was, her luscious hourglass curves and stubborn streak the only reminders of everything he left behind. She still rattles him to the core and leaves him craving more, but Morgan has a secret. A secret that may change the game for good.

HIS Girl, Book 5 of The HIS Collection, was about Hawk Larson, a retired NFL player, and Morgan Quinn, a waitress at a small diner. Hawk had left town five years earlier to play footfall in the NFL. He left behind his high school sweetheart, who had supposedly broken his heart. Now he had returned home, and retired due to an injury that would not allow him to play ever again. One of the first persons he ran into happened to be Morgan, with a small child. It didn't take long for anger to set in at the thought of her being with someone else and having that man's child. They exchanged a few, controlled but hateful words, then went their separate ways. Later that night Hawk went to a local diner to eat, only to find Morgan there. One thing led to another, they went to his house, had sex, and then ended up at her place where he learned that Morgan's child was also his. It was definitely a micro-short story, just six chapters, and an epilogue, and it was very fast-paced. It had drama and angst aplenty, but there was no humor. It was...just okay. They were in bed more than they were out of it, and the anger/acceptance over the hidden child was...weak. The book earned only a three-star rating because it was too abbreviated, lacked a plot, and needed more backstory. But it was still a sweet story.
