Can a ruined lady’s love save the Earl of Every Sin?
When Alessandro, the half-Spanish Earl of Rayne, settles upon a marriage of convenience with Lady Catriona Hamilton, the terms are clear: an heir in exchange for her freedom. Still haunted by his painful past, he has no intention of entertaining a true marriage with his new wife or remaining in England.
A ruined lady brought back from her banishment for a second chance, Catriona is practical and determined. There’s no stronger lure than the prospect of her independence. Except for the earl himself, that is.
Saddled with a scapegrace brother-in-law, a mouse-toting ward, a Spanish-speaking butler, and a wife he cannot stop wanting, Alessandro is about to learn life is best when it does not go according to plan. But if he doesn’t let go of the past, he’ll lose everything.
The darkest hearts fall the hardest…

Before you choose to read this book, there is another that should come before. Though it's not included in the series, "Sarah A Regency Romance Novella" takes place between Marquess of Mayhem and this one. Earl of Every Sin, Book 4 of the Sins and Scoundrels series, was about Lord Alessandro Diego Christopher Forsythe, the Earl of Rayne, and Lady Catriona Hamilton, sister to the Duke of Montrose. Having only recently returned to England, Alessandro had accepted a betrothal with Catriona as a way of paying a debt of honor to the Duke of Montrose after having shot him and to help her recover her reputation after having been ruined by the Marquess of Shrewsbury. Alessandro made an agreement with Catriona that he would only wed her in order to provide himself with an heir and then he would return to Spain while at the same time giving her freedom to live as she pleased after he left. At first, this appealed to Catriona but, as time went by, she became less certain that was what she wanted. The characters of this book were quite strong, well-developed, and fleshed out. I did so enjoy when Catriona finally found her backbone and gave as good as she got from Alessandro, driving home the point of just what kind of deal he had made with her in order for them to marry. Alessander, the stubborn, oaf of a man who thought he could get his way in everything finally had his comeuppance and saw her for the strong woman she truly was. Alessandro was a force to be reckoned with. Such a strong, opinionated, hard-headed, lost soul that he was, he emulated so many real men in the world all wrapped up into this one soul-touching character. So far, of all the books in the series, this was the second-best. The twists and turns were such a rollercoaster ride that it was sometimes difficult to know which way it would turn next. It had angst, drama, humor, intrigue, romance, passion, and even heartache all thrown in, only to wrap up with a HEA. Definitely worthy of a five-star rating.
