Bought For Love, Book 2 of the Bought by the Billionaire trilogy, was about the billionaire Miles Deveraux and Emma James, a waitress at a local diner who was down on her luck. Having gone through a particularly bad breakup not long ago, Miles went to his friend, Sullivan (from Book 1), and asked him to provide him with the contact information for the matchmaking services Sullivan had used to find his wife. After meeting with the CEO, he was running late for a meeting but was hungry so he stopped at a local greasy spoon for a quick bite...and met his waitress, Emma. He hadn't even seen her yet, but just the sound of her voice was enough to tell him he had found the person he was looking for. When lunch was over, Miles contacted the matchmaker, gave her Emma's name and where she worked, and told her he'd double her fee if she could convince the girl to marry him. During their two-week honeymoon, the newlyweds got to know each other better, but both were keeping secrets they weren't willing to share with each other. Once they returned home, Emma's introduction to society as his wife began with a charity event. Almost immediately upon arrival, they were accosted by Mile's former girlfriend. Easily dispatched and set aside, the other woman only put in one more attempt to cause problems. But Miles' past reared its ugly head before she was done, and Miles had to fix things with his new wife. Once again, this was a short but sweet novella that had all the feels. It had only a touch more humor, plenty of angst, and a bit of drama to whet the appetite and keep the reader's attention. The emotional rollercoaster wasn't as windy or twisty, but it had enough to be interesting. The second book was almost as good as the first, so it earned a five-star rating and will join its predecessor in the Keeper for the Shelves collection.
