He once said that he loves me.
Now he always shows that he hates me.
Adam Collins was once supposed to be the boy I’d love forever.
But then he got mean just before high school.
So mean, in fact, that he would have me in tears wherever and whenever we crossed paths.
I’ve tried to ignore him.
I’ve tried to understand him.
Now, I’m going to try and fight back.
Because the thing about Adam is that no matter how cruel he is, no matter how angry he gets, I can’t stop thinking of him.
And I’m going to make damn sure that he doesn’t stop thinking about me if he remains the bully.

I could go on a rant about this book and how demeaning Adam is. Had it been myself, I'd even declare him so toxic and the experiences as traumatic. Surprised as sensitive as Emily, she just crawl back into his lap. Maybe she's got issues unresolved since she basically fucked him right not even a night after his verbal abusiveness. Hard to get into a book and the sex scenes when you can't understand the relationship to begin with. Especially since the entire book was about him taunting and abusing her until the HALF of the last chapter and epilogue. Sorry for spoiling the book but had someone told me, I wouldn't have bothered. So read this if you'd like to cry 😢.

This is exactly the type of story I look to avoid. Thanks for an honest review.

It was one of the worst books I read. Never seen a girl lay her ass down to be a doormat like this one. The middle of the book shifted so suddenly, I had to wonder if I was reading a new boom. A guy this narcissistic cannot change his strips this suddenly to be apologetic. It's full of mgynostic comments from the main guy that it's disgusting. ANOTHER disgusting manner is the way he views women even though it's the father figures that does the cheating. 🙄🙄 but sure, blame your unhappiness on women.
