An earl in the streets, a rogue in the sheets . . .

Leopold Graham, Lord Hampton, was never a man to let propriety stand in the way of his pursuit of pleasure. Hedonism is his only desire in life—until his father’s death saddles him with debts that threaten to bankrupt the entire family. Now the only thing that stands between him and utter ruin is marriage to a proper, and preferably wealthy, young lady.

Ivy Leighton is no sweet English rose. Perhaps it’s her gypsy roots, but she would rather make a spectacle of her independent spirit than sit quietly on the sidelines. If that means that the only place she’ll ever have in society is firmly on the shelf, then so be it. But when Ivy runs into the handsome, rakish Leo who’s looking for a respectable, well-bred wife, she can’t stop thinking about the troubles they can get into. Now she just has to convince him that a life with her is really what he needs.

Book 1 of the Sins and Scoundrels series was short but oh boy was the passion sizzling! Leo Graham, Lord Hampton, was trying to overcome the scandal, disgrace, and near-empty coffers caused by his late father. Knowing he needed to marry an heiress in order to save the family, he chose to leave his rakish lifestyle behind and become a staid, boring earl. Ivy Leighton, half Gypsy, half English daughter of a newspaper mogul, was invited to attend a weekend house party being thrown by Lord Hampton's mother who had decided to take it upon herself to see her son not throw his life away on a marriage of convenience. Dowager Countess Hampton wanted her son to marry for love, so she set her son up to find the woman of his dreams...hopefully in the form of Ivy Leighton. Through a bunch of subtle, yet planned mishaps, Leo and Ivy were thrown together often and the chemistry between them was hot. Within a short span of time after Ivy arrived, Leo felt drawn to her. But there was more to it than that. There was a secret being kept from Leo that, when he finally managed to figure it out, changed his whole outlook. There was plenty of drama and a good amount of humor in this short novella that kept the reader well entertained. This was a very good start to the series, and this book definitely has a place with the Keeper for the Shelves books.
